Laminext 25 Dt Tablet 10 is used for the following:

• Controlling partial-onset seizures in epilepsy

• Managing primary generalised tonic-clonic seizures

• Treating seizures associated with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome

• Delaying mood episodes in bipolar I disorder

• Decreasing intensity of depressive phases in bipolar disorder

Follow these instructions while taking Laminext 25 Dt Tablet 10:

• Tablet should be dispersed in water immediately before use or chewed before swallowing.

• Alternatively, disperse the tablet in a small amount of diluted fruit juice. If dispersed, swirl the mixture and drink it immediately.

Laminext 25 Dt Tablet 10 is taken orally.

Laminext 25 Dt Tablet 10 contains lamotrigine (25 mg), which works on the body through several mechanisms:

• Inhibits Voltage-Sensitive Sodium Channels: Lamotrigine blocks specific channels in nerve cells that allow sodium to pass through, thereby stabilising neuronal membranes and preventing excessive electrical activity in the brain that can trigger seizures.

• Reduces Excitatory Neurotransmitter Release: By stabilising neuronal membranes, lamotrigine decreases the release of excitatory neurotransmitters such as glutamate and aspartate, which are chemicals that stimulate brain activity and can contribute to seizures when present in excess.

• Modulates Mood-Regulating Neurotransmitters: Lamotrigine may weakly inhibit the release of serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine, which are brain chemicals involved in regulating mood, helping to stabilise emotional states in people with bipolar disorder.

• Store at room temperature not exceeding 30°C.
