Ivadin Xr Tablet 10

Ivadin Xr Tablet 10 is used for the following:

• Treating stable angina pectoris

• Managing chronic heart failure

• Reducing the frequency of angina attacks

• Decreasing the heart rate in patients with an elevated heartbeat

• Improving heart function in chronic heart failure

• Alternative therapy when beta-blockers cannot be used

• Reducing the oxygen demand of the heart

Follow these instructions while taking Ivadin Xr Tablet 10:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet as it is an extended-release formulation.

• Take this tablet orally with meals at the same time each day.

• Continue taking this medicine regularly as prescribed by your doctor.

• Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly without consulting your doctor.

Ivadin Xr Tablet 10 is taken orally.

Ivadin Xr Tablet 10 contains ivabradine (10 mg), which works on the heart in the following ways:

• I(f) Current Inhibition: Ivabradine selectively blocks the funny current I(f), an important electrical current and the heart's natural pacemaker. This action slows down the heart's rhythm in a controlled manner.

• Heart Rate Reduction: This medicine lowers the heart rate without affecting other cardiac parameters by inhibiting the funny current. This reduced heart rate helps decrease the heart's oxygen demand.

• Cardiac Efficiency: The medicine improves the efficiency of your heart by allowing more time for the heart chambers to fill with blood between beats, which is particularly beneficial in heart failure patients.

• Myocardial Oxygen Balance: By reducing heart rate, ivabradine helps create a better balance between oxygen supply and demand in the heart muscle. This is important for patients with angina whose hearts need more oxygen than they can receive.

• Store Ivadin Xr Tablet 10 at room temperature (not exceeding 30°C).

• Keep away from direct light and moisture.

• Store in the original packaging to protect the medicine.

• Keep out of reach and sight of children.

• Check the expiry date before use and do not take the medicine after this date.

• Heart-healthy diet: Follow a low-salt, low-fat diet rich in fruits, vegetables and whole grains to support your cardiovascular health and help manage your heart condition.

• Regular, moderate exercise: Engage in gentle physical activities like walking as advised by your doctor to strengthen your heart, but avoid difficult exercise that might trigger angina symptoms.
