Iobet Eye Drops are used to lower increased pressure inside the eye in adults with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension, helping to protect the optic nerve and preserve vision over time.

Uses of Iobet Eye Drops are:

• Open-Angle Glaucoma: Lowers eye pressure to help protect the optic nerve from damage.
• Ocular Hypertension: Reduces raised eye pressure before it leads to nerve damage or vision loss.
• Vision Protection: Helps prevent progressive, often symptomless, vision loss linked to high eye pressure.

Iobet Eye Drops should be instilled as follows:

• Always wash your hands thoroughly before use.

• Tilt your head back and gently pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pocket.

• Hold the dropper above your eye and squeeze out the drop into this pocket as suggested by your doctor.

• Close your eyes gently for 1 to 2 minutes. Try not to blink or squeeze your eyelids.

• Avoid touching the tip of the dropper against your eye or anything else to prevent contamination.

• If you use other eye medications, wait at least 10 minutes before using them.

Iobet Eye Drops are instilled topically.

Iobet Eye Drops consist of two active components:

• Betaxolol (0.5%): As a cardioselective beta-1 adrenergic receptor blocking agent, betaxolol works by reducing the formation of aqueous humour within your eye. This action helps decrease elevated intraocular pressure. It doesn't have much impact on your cardiovascular and pulmonary parameters.

• Benzalkonium Chloride (0.01%): This component is an antimicrobial preservative that ensures the sterility of the eye drops. Benzalkonium chloride disrupts bacterial cell membranes, leading to leakage of cellular contents and eventually cell death. It's effective against a broad spectrum of bacteria, including both gram-positive and gram-negative types, along with certain viruses, fungi, and protozoa.

• Store Iobet Eye Drops at room temperature, ideally below 30°C.

• Keep the bottle away from direct sunlight and moisture.

• Always keep this medicine out of the reach of children.

• If you've been diagnosed with glaucoma or ocular hypertension, it's important to maintain a healthy weight. Excessive body weight can increase intraocular pressure, so aim for a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, lean proteins and whole grains.

• Regular physical activity helps lower blood pressure, which can indirectly help manage your eye condition. But avoid any exercise where your head is below your heart, as it may increase intraocular pressure. Consult your doctor for suitable exercises.
