Histacet Syrup 60 ml is used to treat allergy symptoms in children.

Uses of Histacet Syrup 60 ml are:

• Hives (Urticaria): Reduces itching linked to hives.
• Insect Bites: Eases discomfort from insect bites.

When giving Histacet Syrup 60ml to your child, follow these guidelines:

• Measure the correct dose of the syrup using the provided measuring cup.
• Keep the bottle well-capped after use.
• This medicine is sugar-based and needs caution for use in diabetic patients. If your child has diabetes, consult your doctor before giving them this medicine.

Histacet Syrup 60ml is given orally to children.

Histacet Syrup 60ml contains cetirizine (5 mg) as its active ingredient:

• Selective H1 Receptor Inhibition: Cetirizine works by selectively blocking a type of receptor in the body called histamine H1 receptors. Histamine is a chemical that is released during an allergic reaction and can cause inflammation and itching among other symptoms.
• Suppression of Allergic Symptoms: By inhibiting these receptors, cetirizine effectively suppresses the effects of histamine. This helps reduce inflammation and itching caused by the allergic reaction.
• Reduction in Drowsiness: Unlike some other antihistamines, cetirizine does not readily enter the brain from the blood. This means it is less likely to cause drowsiness—a common side effect of many allergy medications.

• Store Histacet Syrup 60ml at a cool room temperature between 20°C and 25°C.
• Keep it away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.
• Never allow your child to access the medicine.
• Make sure you check the expiry date on the bottle and avoid using the syrup if it is past this date.
