Hirepa 1 Tablet is used to help control blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes when diet and exercise alone are not enough, particularly after meals. It can be used on its own or alongside metformin.
It contains repaglinide (1 mg), a meglitinide that stimulates the pancreas to release insulin in response to food. Take it with the first bite of each main meal as prescribed; if a meal is skipped, skip the dose.
A balanced diet with regular meals at set times, regular activity, keeping to a healthy weight and routine blood sugar monitoring support better control alongside this medicine.
Tell your doctor about any liver problems before starting, and about other medicines you take. Learn the signs of low blood sugar (shakiness, sweating, hunger) and how to treat them, and report frequent episodes.
