• Karaya Gum (Mucilage): Karaya gum works as a bulk-forming laxative, which helps to relieve constipation by encouraging regular bowel movements. Its demulcent qualities may assist in relieving sore throat. It also maintains appropriate blood sugar levels. It helps lower plasma lipid levels and is advantageous to those with imbalanced cholesterol and triglycerides. 
   
• Sennosides A and B: It's used to relieve constipation. They can also be used to flush out the intestines before a gut examination or surgery. Sennosides are referred to as stimulating laxatives.
