Erlocip 150mg Tablet is primarily used to manage advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and pancreatic cancer. It contains erlotinib, a kinase inhibitor.
This medicine works by blocking a protein called EGFR tyrosine kinase on the surface of cancer cells, which plays a key role in tumour growth and spread, helping slow or halt cancer progression. It is particularly effective for patients whose tumours have certain mutations in the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), and is used with gemcitabine for pancreatic cancer that has spread. Take this medication as advised by your doctor, usually after food.
Keeping all scheduled appointments for blood tests and reviews helps your specialist team monitor treatment and catch problems early.
It's crucial to inform your doctor about any existing health conditions or ongoing medications before starting this medicine, particularly other medicines for heartburn, as these can reduce its absorption. Report any side effects to your doctor right away, especially sudden breathlessness, severe diarrhoea or eye pain. Continue with the medication for the duration prescribed by your doctor.
