CompositionEncicarb 750 Injection 15ml is used to treat severe iron deficiency anaemia when oral iron tablets are not effective, not tolerated, or when a very rapid increase in iron levels is medically necessary. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing iron dextran, and belongs to a class of medicines called parenteral iron replacement therapies.
This injection is also used to correct iron deficiency in patients who cannot take iron orally, and to manage anaemia during pregnancy. It must be administered by a healthcare professional, and a small 'test dose' is often given first to check for an allergic reaction. Use it in the dose, frequency and duration your doctor prescribes.
Eating iron-rich foods such as leafy greens and lean meat, alongside this treatment, can further support your recovery from anaemia.
Inform your doctor if you have a history of asthma, rheumatoid arthritis, or liver disease. Tell your doctor about any other medicines you are taking. The treatment should not be stopped unless your doctor advises you to do so.
