The corticosteroid component strongly reduces inflammation, redness and itching, while the keratolytic component helps loosen and remove thickened, scaly skin, together clearing severe scaling and inflammation more effectively than either alone.
Apply a thin layer to the affected area, usually once or twice daily as your doctor advises, and use only for the recommended period, since this is a super-potent steroid preparation that can thin the skin with prolonged use.
Avoid using on the face, groin or underarms unless specifically directed, and avoid covering the area with airtight dressings. Tell your doctor if the skin does not improve, or if you notice thinning, stretch marks or unusual changes in the treated area.
