Diovan 80 Tablet is used for the following:

• Managing high blood pressure in adults and children aged 6 years and older

• Helping manage heart failure, specifically for those classified as NYHA class II-IV

• Reducing the risk of fatal and non-fatal cardiovascular events, such as strokes and heart attacks

• Lowering the risk of hospitalisation due to heart failure

• Improving survival rates after a heart attack, particularly in patients with left ventricular failure or dysfunction

When taking Diovan 80 Tablet, follow these instructions:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Avoid breaking or chewing the tablet.

• Make sure you don't exceed the recommended dosage without consulting your doctor.

• Do not stop taking this medicine without first discussing this with your doctor.

Diovan 80 Tablet is taken orally.

Diovan 80 Tablet contains valsartan (80 mg). Here's how it works:

• Angiotensin II receptor blocking: Valsartan selectively binds to the AT1 receptor in your body. This receptor is primarily responsible for the narrowing of blood vessels and secreting a hormone called aldosterone. By blocking the AT1 receptor, valsartan helps to widen your blood vessels and reduce the amount of aldosterone in your body.

• Reduces blood pressure: When your blood vessels widen, the blood can flow more easily. This reduces your blood pressure, helping your heart to pump blood more efficiently.

• Store Diovan 80 Tablet at room temperature, ideally below 30°C.

• Keep the medicine away from excess moisture or direct sunlight.

• Keep it out of reach and sight of children.

• Use the medicine before the expiry date mentioned on the packaging.

• If you have high blood pressure, try to limit your salt intake. Too much salt can make hypertension worse, and Diovan 80 Tablet is meant to help manage this condition.

• Regular physical activity can also assist in maintaining a healthy blood pressure level. Aim for about 150 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise each week, such as walking, cycling, or swimming. Remember to consult your doctor before starting any new exercise regimen.
