Dexoderm Tablet is employed for the following:

• Managing fungal infections of the nails, known as onychomycosis

• Controlling ringworm of the body, medically termed tinea corporis

• Addressing jock itch, also known as tinea cruris

• Controlling athlete's foot also known as tinea pedis

Follow these instructions while taking your Dexoderm Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Avoid crushing or chewing the tablet.

• Do not take more than directed by your doctor.

• To prevent the recurrence of the infection, it's crucial to complete the entire course of this medicine, even if your symptoms improve. Always consult your doctor for specific advice.

Dexoderm Tablet is taken orally.

The active ingredient in Dexoderm Tablet is terbinafine (250 mg). It works in the body as follows:

• Inhibits Squalene Epoxidase: Terbinafine works by blocking an enzyme called squalene epoxidase in your body. This enzyme plays a key role in forming ergosterol inside fungal cells.

• Disrupts Fungal Cell Membrane: By blocking the activity of squalene epoxidase, terbinafine effectively disrupts the production of ergosterol, which is a key component of the fungal cell membrane. When this production is compromised, it leads to damage in the fungal cell and ultimately, its death. This action helps resolve the fungal infection.

• Store Dexoderm Tablet at room temperature, ideally below 30°C.

• Keep the medication in a dry place, out of direct light and away from moisture.

• Ensure you keep the medicine out of reach of children for safety.

• Always check the expiry date and use the product before it expires.

• Maintain good personal hygiene to prevent spreading or re-infection. Washing your hands regularly and avoiding sharing clothes or towels can help manage fungal infections.

• Wearing well-ventilated shoes and changing socks daily can help manage conditions like athlete's foot and toenail fungus.
