Cytodrox Capsule is used to manage sickle cell anaemia, where it helps reduce painful episodes and improve blood flow, and to treat certain cancers, including chronic myeloid leukaemia and some head and neck cancers, where it helps slow the growth of cancer cells.
It contains hydroxyurea, a medicine that slows the production of certain blood and cancer cells. Take it exactly as prescribed; handle the capsules carefully and wash your hands after taking them.
Drinking plenty of fluids, keeping to your blood test appointments and protecting your skin from strong sunlight support your safety alongside this medicine.
Tell your doctor about any kidney or liver problems before starting, and about other medicines you take. Regular blood tests check your blood cell counts. Report a fever or signs of infection, unusual bruising or bleeding, mouth sores, or marked tiredness.
