Cresp 40 Prefilled Syringe is used to treat anaemia in adults and children with chronic kidney disease, including those on dialysis and those not on dialysis, by stimulating red blood cell production.

Uses of Cresp 40 Prefilled Syringe are:

• Chronic Kidney Disease Anaemia: Treats low haemoglobin levels in adults and children with kidney disease.
• Chemotherapy-Related Anaemia: Reduces anaemia caused by certain cancer treatments in adults with non-myeloid cancers.
• Ongoing Chemotherapy Support: Helps maintain haemoglobin levels to support continued chemotherapy treatment.

Administer Cresp 40 Prefilled Syringe as follows:

• Cleanse the injection site on your upper arm, thigh or abdomen.

• Follow your doctor's instructions to administer this medicine subcutaneously (under the skin).

• Intravenous injections may be used for adult chronic kidney disease patients upon doctor's advice.

Cresp 40 Prefilled Syringe contains Darbepoetin Alfa (0.04 MG) which works in your body as follows:

• Stimulates Red Blood Cell Production: Darbepoetin alfa is a man-made type of erythropoietin, a hormone naturally produced by your kidneys. This hormone stimulates the production of red blood cells in your bone marrow.

• Increases Oxygen-Carrying Capacity: By increasing red blood cell levels, darbepoetin alfa improves the oxygen-carrying capacity of your blood. This helps alleviate symptoms like fatigue and shortness of breath associated with anaemia.

• Activates Erythropoietin Receptors: Darbepoetin alfa binds to and activates erythropoietin receptors on red blood cell precursors in your bone marrow. This activation promotes the survival, proliferation, and differentiation of these precursor cells into mature red blood cells.
