Cresp 40 Injection is used to treat anaemia (low haemoglobin) linked to chronic kidney disease. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing darbepoetin alfa, which helps the body make more red blood cells.
This medicine helps improve energy levels and reduce weakness. It is given as an injection under the skin or into a vein by a healthcare professional, in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor. Regular blood tests are needed to check your response.
Eating iron-rich foods such as green leafy vegetables and lentils and attending every scheduled blood test support the benefit of this treatment.
Before it is given, tell your doctor if you have high blood pressure, a history of blood clots or seizures, and about all other medicines you take. Report severe headache, swelling, chest pain or breathlessness to your care team right away. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
