Cortimax Suspension is used in children to manage severe asthma, COPD and a range of inflammatory and autoimmune conditions, helping reduce inflammation and control an overactive immune response.

Uses of Cortimax Suspension are:

• Respiratory Conditions: Manages severe asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
• Inflammatory and Autoimmune Conditions: Helps manage rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, severe allergic reactions and inflammatory skin or bowel disease.

Follow these steps when giving your child Cortimax Suspension:

• Shake the bottle well before using.

• Use a spoon or cup to measure the exact amount recommended by the doctor.

• Give the medicine orally to your child with food or milk to avoid stomach upset.

• Ensure you give the medicine for the full duration as advised by the doctor. If there's any confusion, consult your doctor for further instructions.

Cortimax Suspension contains deflazacort (6 mg), which functions in several ways:

• Inhibition of Inflammatory Mediators: Deflazacort works by blocking substances called prostaglandins and leukotrienes that cause inflammation in your child's body.

• Suppression of Immune System: The medicine reduces the production of T-lymphocytes, decreases the synthesis of immunoglobulin, and impairs a process called complement system activation. These actions collectively suppress cell-mediated and humoral immune responses, helping control autoimmune disorders in your child.

• Alteration of Gene Expression: Deflazacort binds to specific receptors in cells called glucocorticoid receptors. These receptors then move into the cell nucleus where they alter gene expression; they increase the production of anti-inflammatory proteins and decrease proinflammatory proteins at a fundamental level known as transcription.

  In essence, deflazacort reduces inflammation, suppresses overactive immune responses, and modifies the expression of inflammation-related genes in your child's body.

• Store Cortimax Suspension at room temperature, ideally between 15°-30°C.

• Keep it away from direct sunlight and do not expose it to freezing temperatures.
