COCID D Capsule is primarily used to manage gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD). This combination medicine combines omeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor, with domperidone, a prokinetic agent, and is also effective in managing Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
Omeprazole reduces the amount of acid the stomach produces, allowing the food pipe and stomach lining to heal, while domperidone speeds up the movement of food through the stomach, easing bloating and reducing the backflow of acid into the food pipe.
Take this capsule before a meal, generally in the morning, exactly as your doctor prescribes, and continue for the duration advised for your particular condition.
Tell your doctor if you have a heart rhythm problem, as domperidone needs caution in this situation. Long-term use of omeprazole can affect magnesium and vitamin B12 levels, so tell your doctor if you notice unusual tiredness, muscle cramps or tingling.
