Clavam BID Dry Syrup is used to treat bacterial infections in children, including ear infections, throat infections (tonsillitis), and lung infections (bronchitis). It works against bacteria that may be resistant to plain penicillin, helping treat the infection and relieve associated symptoms.
It contains Amoxicillin and Clavulanic Acid. Prepare the syrup by adding sterile water as directed, shake well before each use, and store it in the refrigerator after mixing. Complete the entire prescribed course, even if your child feels better, to fully clear the infection.
Giving the syrup with food can help reduce the chance of an upset stomach. Make sure your child stays well hydrated during the course of treatment.
Before starting this medicine, tell the doctor if your child has any known allergy to penicillin-based antibiotics or a history of liver problems. Consult your doctor immediately if your child develops a widespread skin rash or severe diarrhoea.
