Chlorocol-H Eye Ointment is used to treat bacterial eye infections with associated inflammation, such as conjunctivitis. It helps reduce redness, pain and swelling while clearing the underlying bacterial infection.
It contains chloramphenicol, an antibiotic, and hydrocortisone, a mild corticosteroid. Apply it to the affected eye as prescribed, usually at bedtime, and avoid touching the tube tip to any surface.
Keeping the eye area clean, avoiding eye make-up during treatment, and not sharing towels or pillowcases help prevent the infection from spreading to others.
Tell your doctor if you have glaucoma or a viral or fungal eye infection before starting. Remove contact lenses before use. Report blurred vision, worsening eye pain, or if symptoms do not improve within a few days.
