Chlorocol Eye Drops 10Ml is used for:

• Treatment of bacterial conjunctivitis
• Management of superficial eye infections caused by susceptible bacteria
• Prevention of secondary bacterial infection in minor eye injuries

• Wash your hands thoroughly before application.
• Tilt the head back and gently pull down the lower eyelid.
• Instil the prescribed number of drops into the affected eye.
• Close the eye gently for a few seconds after application.
• Avoid touching the dropper tip to the eye or any surface.
• Use the medicine for the full prescribed duration.

Chlorocol Eye Drops 10Ml contains the following active components:

• Chloramphenicol (0.5%): Chloramphenicol is a broad-spectrum antibacterial agent that works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis through binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit. This action inhibits bacterial growth and multiplication, allowing the immune system to eliminate the infection.
• Phenylmercuric Nitrate (0.001%): Phenylmercuric nitrate is used as a preservative with antimicrobial properties. It helps maintain sterility of the eye drops during repeated use, but may cause irritation in sensitive individuals.
