CompositionCebocontin 200 Tablet CR 10 is used to manage respiratory conditions such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), bronchitis and bronchial asthma. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing acebrophylline, and belongs to the class of mucolytic and bronchodilator medicines.
This medicine works by relaxing the muscles of the airways and thinning and loosening mucus, making it easier to breathe and cough up phlegm. It helps relieve symptoms such as breathing difficulty, wheezing, coughing and chest tightness. Take this tablet whole with food, usually in the evening, in the dose and duration prescribed by your doctor.
Tell your doctor about any pre-existing conditions, especially low blood pressure, irregular heartbeat, or liver or kidney disease, and about any other medicines you are taking, before starting this medicine. It does not work immediately or relieve a sudden attack of breathlessness, so always carry your emergency inhaler as well. Report any persistent stomach discomfort or diarrhoea to your doctor. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
