It contains nifedipine in a slow-release form that works through the day. Swallow the tablet whole as prescribed; do not crush or chew it. Take it at a regular time each day, with or without food.
Lifestyle changes help control blood pressure alongside this medicine. These include cutting down on salt, eating a balanced diet with plenty of fruit and vegetables, staying active, keeping to a healthy weight, and limiting alcohol. Avoid grapefruit juice, which can affect how the medicine works.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have heart failure, liver problems, or very low blood pressure. Tell your doctor if you develop ankle swelling or ongoing dizziness. Speak to your doctor before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
