Bryxta 400 mg Injection 16 ml is used, along with other chemotherapy medicines, to treat several types of cancer.

Uses of Bryxta 400 mg Injection 16 ml are:

• Metastatic Colorectal Cancer: Used with chemotherapy to treat cancer that has spread from the colon or rectum.
• Non-small Cell Lung Cancer: Helps manage advanced lung cancer.
• Glioblastoma Multiforme: Used to treat recurrent brain cancer.
• Metastatic Breast Cancer: Helps manage cancer that has spread from the breast.
• Advanced Kidney Cancer: Helps manage advanced kidney cancer (renal cell carcinoma).
• Gynaecological Cancers: Used to treat cervical, ovarian, fallopian tube and peritoneal cancer.

Follow these instructions while using Bryxta 400 Injection 1:

• This medicine must be administered only by a healthcare professional in a hospital or clinic setting.

• The injection is given through an intravenous infusion into a vein.

• The initial infusion is usually given over 90 minutes.

• If well-tolerated, subsequent infusions may be shortened to 60 or 30 minutes.

• Regular monitoring of blood pressure will occur during administration.

• Never attempt to self-administer this medicine.

• Your doctor will determine the appropriate schedule for your treatment.

Bryxta 400 Injection 1 is administered intravenously.

Bryxta 400 Injection 1 contains bevacizumab (400 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• VEGF-A inhibition: Bevacizumab specifically targets and binds to a protein called vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), which normally promotes the formation of new blood vessels in the body.

• Anti-angiogenic effect: By blocking VEGF-A, this medicine prevents the development of new blood vessels (a process called angiogenesis) that tumours need to grow and spread.

• Tumour starvation: This action essentially cuts off the blood supply to cancer cells, depriving them of oxygen and nutrients they require for growth and survival.

• Enhanced chemotherapy delivery: When combined with traditional chemotherapy medicines, bevacizumab improves the delivery of these cytotoxic agents to the tumour while simultaneously limiting the tumour's growth potential.

• Store Bryxta 400 Injection 1 in a refrigerator at 2-8°C.

• Keep the medicine in its original packaging to protect it from light.
