Bracanat 150 Tablet is used for the following:

• Maintenance therapy for ovarian cancer

• Treatment for BRCA-mutated ovarian cancer

• Maintenance after platinum chemotherapy response

• Management of breast cancer with BRCA mutations

• Treatment option for advanced pancreatic cancer

• Therapy for specific prostate cancer types

• Management of cancer with DNA repair deficiencies

• Targeted therapy for genetically mutated cancers

Follow these instructions while taking Bracanat 150 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water.

• Do not crush, chew, break or split the tablet.

• This medicine can be taken with or without food.

• Keep taking the medicine for as long as your doctor has advised.

• Consult your doctor if you have difficulty swallowing the tablet.

Bracanat 150 Tablet is taken orally.

Bracanat 150 Tablet contains olaparib (150 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• PARP Enzyme Inhibition: Olaparib works by blocking an enzyme called PARP, which plays a crucial role in DNA repair processes within cells.

• Synthetic Lethality: In cancer cells with BRCA mutations that already have compromised DNA repair mechanisms, olaparib prevents the repair of DNA damage, leading to the death of cancer cells through a process known as synthetic lethality.

• Targeted Action: This medicine specifically targets cancer cells with BRCA mutations while generally sparing healthy cells that have functioning BRCA genes and can use alternative DNA repair pathways.
