Betnesol Oral Drops are oral drops of a steroid medicine used to treat severe allergic conditions, severe asthma, inflammatory skin diseases, rheumatic disorders and autoimmune conditions where steroid treatment is needed. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing betamethasone, and belongs to a class of medicines called corticosteroids.
This medicine works by calming the immune system and reducing the production of the chemical substances that cause inflammation, swelling and allergic reactions. Measure the exact number of drops prescribed by your doctor and follow the dose and duration strictly. If it is being given to a child, use it only as the child's doctor advises.
Because steroids can raise blood sugar and lower resistance to infection, keep regular check-ups, report any signs of infection early and avoid close contact with people who have chickenpox or measles while taking this medicine.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have an active infection, diabetes, high blood pressure or liver problems, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Long-term or high-dose use needs close medical supervision.
