Taxtam 1000/500 MG Injection is used for managing the following conditions:

• Lower respiratory tract infections like pneumonia and bronchitis.
• Different types of urinary tract infections, including pyelonephritis and cystitis.
• Infections affecting the skin and its structures.
• Bone and joint infections such as osteomyelitis and septic arthritis.
• Gynaecological infections, for instance, pelvic inflammatory disease and endometritis.
• Intra-abdominal infections like peritonitis.
• Bloodstream infections such as septicemia.
• Brain and spinal cord infections like meningitis.
• Bacterial sexually transmitted infection known as gonorrhoea.
• Prevention of post-surgery infection.

Administer Taxtam 1000/500 MG Injection as follows:

• This medicine must only be administered by a trained medical professional.
• It can be given intravenously or as an intramuscular injection.
• For intravenous use, it's diluted in a suitable solution before being infused.
• If given intramuscularly, the solution is injected deep into a large muscle mass.

Taxtam 1000/500 MG Injection comprises two active ingredients:

• Cefotaxime (1000 mg): It is a cephalosporin antibiotic. It works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis. It attaches itself to and deactivates penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), which are vital for the final stage of constructing bacterial cell walls.
• Sulbactam (500 mg): It is a beta-lactamase inhibitor, sulbactam irreversibly obstructs most clinically significant beta-lactamases produced by antibiotic-resistant bacteria. By disabling these beta-lactamases, sulbactam safeguards cefotaxime from being broken down and broadens its antibacterial spectrum to encompass many bacteria that produce beta-lactamase.

• Store Taxtam 1000/500 MG Injection at room temperature, ideally around 30°C.
• Keep it safe from light and moisture.
• It's important to keep this medicine out of reach of children.
