Taximax 1500 Injection 1

Taximax 1500 Injection is used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections and is also given to prevent infection after certain surgical procedures.

Uses of Taximax 1500 Injection are:

• Respiratory Tract Infections: Treats infections such as pneumonia and bronchitis.
• Urinary Tract Infections: Treats infections including pyelonephritis and cystitis.
• Skin and Bone Infections: Treats infections of the skin and soft tissues, and bone and joint infections.
• Other Serious Infections: Manages gynaecological and abdominal infections, septicaemia, meningitis and gonorrhoea, and prevents infection after surgery.

Administer Taximax 1500 Injection 1 as follows:

• This medicine must only be administered by a trained medical professional.
• It can be given intravenously or as an intramuscular injection.
• For intravenous use, it's diluted in a suitable solution before being infused.
• If given intramuscularly, the solution is injected deep into a large muscle mass.

Taximax 1500 Injection 1 is administered intravenously.

Taximax 1500 Injection 1 comprises two active ingredients:

• Cefotaxime (1000 mg): It is a cephalosporin antibiotic. It works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis. It attaches itself to and deactivates penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), which are vital for the final stage of constructing bacterial cell walls.
• Sulbactam (500 mg): It is a beta-lactamase inhibitor, sulbactam irreversibly obstructs most clinically significant beta-lactamases produced by antibiotic-resistant bacteria. By disabling these beta-lactamases, sulbactam safeguards cefotaxime from being broken down and broadens its antibacterial spectrum to encompass many bacteria that produce beta-lactamase.

• Store Taximax 1500 Injection 1 at room temperature, ideally around 30°C.
• Keep it safe from light and moisture.
• It's important to keep this medicine out of reach of children.
• Always check the expiry date before using the product.
