CompositionArachitol 6L Injection is used to treat vitamin D deficiency and related bone problems such as rickets and osteomalacia (softening of the bones). It is a single-ingredient medicine containing cholecalciferol (vitamin D3) 600,000 IU, and belongs to a group of medicines called vitamin D supplements.
This medicine is used when vitamin D levels are very low or when tablets are not effective or not absorbed well. Vitamin D helps the body absorb calcium for healthy bones and muscles. It is given by a healthcare professional as an injection into a muscle, usually as a single dose, and further doses are given only as your doctor advises based on your blood tests.
Getting some safe sunlight, eating calcium- and vitamin D-rich foods such as dairy products, eggs and fortified foods, and doing weight-bearing exercise such as walking can help maintain bone health.
Before receiving this injection, tell your doctor if you have high calcium levels, kidney stones or kidney disease, sarcoidosis, or heart disease, and about other medicines or supplements you take, especially other vitamin D or calcium products. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Contact your doctor if you notice nausea, vomiting, excessive thirst, passing a lot of urine, confusion or weakness, as these can be signs of too much vitamin D. Do not stop the treatment unless your doctor advises you to do so.
