It is also used to control postprandial (after-meal) blood glucose levels. It is a rapid-acting insulin analogue designed to control the rise in blood sugar that occurs around meals. It begins to act quickly after injection and is commonly used as part of a basal–bolus insulin regimen or through insulin pump therapy.
Before starting treatment, consultation with a doctor is mandatory. The dose, timing, and method of administration are individualised based on age, body weight, diet, physical activity, kidney and liver function, and blood glucose monitoring results.
