Anafortan New Tablet is used to relieve abdominal pain and cramps caused by muscle spasms, including painful periods. It is a combination medicine containing camylofin, an antispasmodic, and paracetamol, a pain reliever and fever reducer.
This medicine is also used to relieve colicky pain from kidney stones (renal colic) and gallstones (biliary colic), and cramping pain linked to irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). It helps relax the muscles of the stomach, gut and urinary tract while easing pain. Swallow the tablet whole; do not crush or chew it. Take it in the dose prescribed by your doctor and for the shortest time needed.
Resting and placing a warm compress on the lower abdomen may help ease cramps. For kidney stone pain, drinking plenty of fluids is usually helpful unless your doctor advises otherwise.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have glaucoma, difficulty passing urine or an enlarged prostate, a bowel blockage, a heart rhythm problem, or liver or kidney disease, and about other medicines you take. Do not take other medicines containing paracetamol at the same time, as too much paracetamol can harm the liver. Avoid alcohol, and tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Report any persistent or serious side effect to your doctor. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
