Amoxyclav 625 Tablet is used to treat bacterial infections of the chest, sinuses, ears, urinary tract, skin and teeth in adults. It is a combination medicine containing amoxicillin, a penicillin antibiotic, and clavulanic acid, a beta-lactamase inhibitor.
This medicine is also used for infected animal bites, wounds and dental abscesses. Take it at the start of a meal, exactly as prescribed by your doctor, and complete the full course even if you feel better early. It does not work against viral infections such as colds or flu.
Getting enough rest and fluids supports recovery while you take this medicine.
Do not take it if you are allergic to penicillin, or if you have had liver problems or yellowing of the skin with this medicine before. Tell your doctor about any other allergies, kidney or liver problems, or glandular fever, and about other medicines you take. Seek urgent help for swelling of the face or throat, difficulty breathing or a widespread rash, and tell your doctor about severe or bloody diarrhoea. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
