AF-Kit Tablet is used to treat abnormal vaginal discharge caused by mixed vaginal infections. It is a combination kit containing azithromycin (an antibiotic), fluconazole (an antifungal) and ornidazole (an antiprotozoal), and belongs to a group of medicines called anti-infectives.
This medicine is used in the management of bacterial vaginosis, vaginal yeast infection (candidiasis) and trichomoniasis, which can occur together and cause discharge, itching, odour and burning. The kit contains one azithromycin tablet, one fluconazole tablet and two ornidazole tablets, usually taken as a short course. Swallow each tablet whole with or after food, exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
Wearing loose cotton underwear, keeping the genital area clean and dry, and avoiding douching or scented products can support recovery. Avoid sexual intercourse until you and your partner have completed treatment, as your doctor may advise treating your partner as well. Avoid alcohol during treatment and for at least 3 days afterwards.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have a heart rhythm problem, liver or kidney disease, epilepsy or another nervous system disorder, and about all other medicines you take. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Contact your doctor if you notice a fast or irregular heartbeat, a severe rash, yellowing of the skin or eyes, or if symptoms do not clear. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
