Aclind BP 2.5% Gel is useful for the following conditions:

• Dealing with mild to moderate acne vulgaris: This refers to common types of acne, characterised by blackheads, whiteheads, and pimples.

• Managing comedones: These are commonly known as blackheads and whiteheads that appear due to clogged skin pores.

• Controlling inflammatory lesions: The gel helps in reducing red, swollen bumps on the skin, often filled with pus.

• Preventing nodules and cystic lesions: This medicine aids in preventing large, painful lumps beneath the skin's surface.

• Ensure your skin is clean and dry before application.

• Apply a thin layer of the gel on the affected area once daily, preferably in the evening.

Aclind BP 2.5% Gel works effectively by using two active ingredients:

• Benzoyl Peroxide (2.5%): This ingredient acts as a keratolytic agent which means it promotes skin turnover and opens clogged pores. It also has antimicrobial properties which help in reducing bacterial count by releasing free-radical oxygen.

• Clindamycin (1%): This is an antibiotic that works by stopping the growth of the bacteria responsible for causing acne - Propionibacterium acnes. It does so by binding to a part of these bacteria called the 50S subunit of bacterial ribosomes, subsequently inhibiting early stages of protein synthesis.

These actions combine to manage acne lesions effectively while also preventing new ones from forming. The gel base also aids in providing a mild drying and peeling effect which assists in skin recovery.
