Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the most common category of lung cancer, accounting for the majority of lung cancer cases (approximately 80–85%). NSCLC comprises several histologic subtypes, most commonly adenocarcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and large-cell (undifferentiated) carcinoma and, increasingly, the management is driven by both histology and molecular alterations (EGFR, ALK, ROS1, BRAF, MET, RET, NTRK, KRAS, etc.). Treatment and prognosis for NSCLC depend on the stage of the cancer, which is determined by the extent of its spread.

Neuropathic pain (nerve pain) is pain caused by a lesion or disease of the somatosensory nervous system. It presents with positive sensory phenomena (burning, shooting, electric-shock sensations, allodynia, hyperalgesia) and/or negative sensory signs (numbness or loss of sensation). Neuropathic pain may be chronic and can be difficult to manage, often requiring multimodal and targeted approaches, according to (NICE (2020)). Various factors, such as diabetes, shingles, multiple sclerosis, and injuries, can lead to neuropathic pain.

Nausea refers to the uneasy sensation of needing to vomit, often described as a queasy or unsettled feeling in the stomach. It is usually addressed as “sick to your stomach”. It can arise due to a wide range of conditions, including digestive disturbances and infections, neurological disorders and medication side effects. Though not a disease itself, nausea frequently signals underlying health issues and can impact hydration, nutrition, and daily functioning if persistent or severe.
