It is also used for thr treatment of primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), in patients at high risk of bleeding or prior to surgery.
It provides broad-spectrum immunoglobulins that boost the body's defences and can help reduce harmful inflammation in some immune conditions. It is given in a clinical setting under the direct supervision of a healthcare professional, who will decide the dose and rate of infusion. Your vital signs are monitored during and after the infusion.
