Zenrif 200 Mg Tablet 10 is an antibiotic medicine used to treat gut-related infections and conditions, including traveller's diarrhoea, hepatic encephalopathy (a brain condition caused by severe liver disease), and irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhoea (IBS-D).
It contains rifaximin, an antibiotic that acts locally within the intestines and is minimally absorbed into the bloodstream. It works by inhibiting bacterial RNA synthesis, thereby killing susceptible bacteria in the gut, with fewer effects on the rest of the body.
Take this tablet exactly as prescribed by your doctor, with or without food. Complete the full course even if you start feeling better, to help prevent the infection from returning.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have any liver problems, are allergic to rifamycin antibiotics, or are taking other medicines. Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding should be based on your doctor's assessment of the benefits and risks.
