CompositionVono 20 Mg Tablet is an acid-reducing medicine used to treat erosive oesophagitis and frequent heartburn caused by excess stomach acid. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing vonoprazan, and belongs to a class of medicines called potassium-competitive acid blockers.
This medicine works by blocking the final step of acid production in the stomach lining, which lowers the amount of acid and allows the food pipe to heal. It is also used together with antibiotics to treat Helicobacter pylori infection in adults. Take it as prescribed, usually before a meal, and continue for the full course advised by your doctor even if you start to feel better.
Eating smaller, more frequent meals, avoiding spicy, oily or acidic foods, and limiting caffeine and alcohol can help reduce acid reflux symptoms alongside this medicine. Avoid lying down immediately after eating.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have liver problems or are taking any other medicines, as it can affect how some of them work. Seek medical advice if you notice persistent stomach pain or signs of a skin rash.
