Viropil Tablet 30

Viropil Tablet is used in adults and children weighing at least 40 kilograms to manage HIV-1 infection, either as a first treatment or as a replacement for another regimen that is working well.

Uses of Viropil Tablet are:

• HIV-1 Infection: Used to manage HIV-1 infection in adults and children weighing at least 40 kg.
• Starting Treatment: Suitable for people beginning antiretroviral therapy for the first time.
• Switching Treatment: Can replace an existing regimen in people who are responding well with no history of treatment failure.

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew it.
• You can take this medicine with or without food.
• Do not take more than the recommended dose without consulting your doctor.
• If you decide to stop taking this medicine, ensure you first consult your doctor.

Viropil Tablet is taken orally.

Viropil Tablet contains three active ingredients that work together to inhibit key steps in the HIV replication cycle:

• Dolutegravir (50 mg): This component binds to the active site of the HIV integrase and blocks the strand transfer step of retroviral DNA integration, a vital step in the HIV replication cycle.
• Lamivudine (300 mg): Lamivudine is a synthetic nucleoside analogue that inhibits HIV reverse transcriptase after its intracellular transformation into its active 5'-triphosphate metabolite. This results in the termination of the DNA chain.
• Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate (300 mg): This component is an acyclic nucleoside phosphonate diester analogue of adenosine monophosphate. After undergoing diester hydrolysis and phosphorylation, it inhibits the activity of HIV-1 reverse transcriptase by competing with the natural substrate deoxyadenosine 5'-triphosphate and causing DNA chain termination after incorporation into DNA.

• Store Viropil Tablet below 30°C, ideally in a cool, dry place.
• Avoid exposure to excessive light and moisture.
• Keep the tablet bottle tightly closed when not in use.
• Always keep Viropil Tablet out of reach of children.
