CompositionVILDACOAST 100 MG TABLET 10 is used to help control blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes when diet and exercise alone are not enough. It can be used on its own when other diabetes medicines are not suitable, or alongside medicines such as metformin or a sulfonylurea.
It contains vildagliptin, which belongs to a group of medicines called DPP-4 inhibitors. It helps the body release more insulin after meals and reduces the glucose made by the liver, with a low risk of causing low blood sugar on its own. Take it as prescribed.
A balanced diet with controlled carbohydrate intake, regular activity, keeping to a healthy weight and routine blood sugar monitoring support better control alongside this medicine.
Tell your doctor about any liver or pancreas problems before starting, and about other medicines you take. Report severe or ongoing stomach pain, yellowing of the skin or eyes, or signs of an allergic reaction such as rash or swelling.
