Veltam 0.2 Tablet is used to relieve lower urinary tract symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in adult men. It helps improve urine flow rate and reduces urinary frequency, urgency, and nighttime urination.
It contains tamsulosin 0.2 mg in a modified-release formulation. Take it as prescribed, usually once daily after the same meal each day. Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush, chew, or break it, as this alters the modified-release mechanism.
Maintaining regular fluid intake, reducing caffeine and alcohol consumption, and avoiding fluids late in the evening can help support urinary symptom management alongside this medicine.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver disease, low blood pressure, or are scheduled for cataract eye surgery. Tamsulosin can affect eye pupil reflexes during surgery. Inform your eye surgeon in advance. Report dizziness or lightheadedness when standing up to your doctor.
