Ulpan L Capsule 10

Ulpan L Capsule 10 is used for managing the following conditions:

• Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) in cases when pantoprazole alone does not provide sufficient relief

• Heartburn and acid reflux symptoms

• Non-ulcer dyspepsia, a condition causing indigestion and discomfort in the upper abdomen

• Delayed gastric emptying, a condition where the stomach takes too long to empty its contents

• Swallow it whole with a glass of water.

• Avoid crushing, chewing or opening the capsule.

Ulpan L Capsule 10 is taken orally.

Ulpan L Capsule 10 contains two active ingredients:

• Pantoprazole (40 mg): Belonging to the proton pump inhibitor class of medicines, pantoprazole suppresses gastric acid secretion by irreversibly blocking the hydrogen/potassium adenosine triphosphatase enzyme system ('proton pump') in the gastric parietal cells. This action reduces the amount of acid produced in the stomach.

• Levosulpiride (75 mg): This prokinetic agent increases the movement of the stomach and intestines, helping food pass through more efficiently. It also acts as an atypical antipsychotic, blocking dopamine receptors in the gut and chemoreceptor trigger zone. This activity reduces nausea, vomiting, and acid reflux.

Together, these ingredients help increase gut motility while reducing gastric acid secretion, providing relief from GERD symptoms.
