Tresiba FlexTouch Pen is used to manage type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults, adolescents and children aged 1 year and above, helping to control blood sugar levels throughout the day and reduce the risk of high blood sugar (hyperglycaemia).
It contains insulin degludec, an ultra long-acting basal insulin, and is given as an injection under the skin. Inject it as prescribed, at around the same time each day, rotating the injection site to avoid skin changes. Do not change your dose without your doctor's advice.
Checking your blood sugar regularly, carrying a fast-acting sugar source for low blood sugar episodes, and eating meals at consistent times support safe use of this insulin.
Tell your doctor about any kidney or liver problems, or other medicines you take, before starting. Report symptoms of low blood sugar such as shakiness, sweating or confusion, or any injection site reactions, to your doctor.
