TORSIP 10 MG INJECTION 2 ML is a medicine used to remove excess fluid from the body (oedema) in people with heart failure, kidney disease, or liver disease, particularly when fluid needs to be cleared quickly, such as in hospital. It is also sometimes used to help manage high blood pressure.
It belongs to a group of medicines called loop diuretics (water tablets). It works in the kidneys to flush out extra salt and water through the urine, which reduces swelling and eases the workload on the heart. It is given as injection by a doctor or nurse, who monitors your fluid and salt balance.
Some general measures can help alongside this medicine. These include following any advice on salt and fluid intake and attending the blood tests your doctor arranges.
Before this medicine is given, tell your doctor about any kidney problems, gout, diabetes, or other medicines you take. Because it increases urination, it can affect your body's salts, so your blood may be checked. Tell your doctor about severe dizziness, muscle cramps, or weakness. Your care team will check your blood salts and kidney function during treatment and adjust the dose according to how much fluid needs to be removed.
