Torq-SR 4 Capsule is used to manage the symptoms of an overactive bladder in adults, including sudden urges to urinate, frequency and urge incontinence.

Uses of Torq-SR 4 Capsule are:

• Overactive Bladder: Reduces sudden urges to urinate and urge incontinence.
• Frequency Reduction: Decreases how often the bladder needs to empty.
• Bladder Comfort: Improves overall bladder capacity and daily comfort.

Here's how you should use Torq-SR 4 Capsule:

• Swallow the capsule whole with water.
• Avoid opening, chewing or crushing the capsule as it is designed to release the medicine slowly into your system.
• Try to take the medicine at the same time each day for maximum effectiveness.

Torq-SR 4 Capsule is taken orally.

Torq-SR 4 Capsule contains tolterodine (4 mg), which works on your body in the following ways:

• Muscarinic Receptor Antagonist: Tolterodine acts by blocking acetylcholine receptors on the bladder muscle. This prevents involuntary contractions of these muscles.
• Relaxation of Detrusor Muscle: By inhibiting the action of acetylcholine on the bladder muscle, Tolterodine helps relax this muscle called the detrusor muscle. This allows your bladder to fill more fully and store urine better.
• Specific Action: Tolterodine specifically targets muscarinic receptors without significantly affecting other cell receptors and targets. This ensures that its action is primarily focused on managing overactive bladder symptoms.
• Metabolisation: After oral administration, Tolterodine is metabolised extensively in your liver, mainly by an enzyme called cytochrome P450 2D6 into an active metabolite. This metabolite also contributes to the therapeutic effect of the medicine.

• Store the Torq-SR 4 Capsule in a cool, dry place where the temperature stays below 25°C.
• Protect this medicine from light and moisture to maintain its effectiveness.
