Tinilox-MPS Tablet is primarily used to manage intestinal amoebiasis, a parasitic infection in the intestines, and amoebic liver abscess, where pus-filled pockets form in the liver. It is also effective in treating giardiasis, an infection in the small intestine caused by the Giardia parasite, and trichomoniasis, a sexually transmitted infection caused by a parasite.

When taking Tinilox-MPS Tablet, keep these points in mind:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Avoid crushing or chewing the tablet.

• Do not take more than the dose recommended by your doctor.

• It's essential not to stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor first.

Tinilox-MPS Tablet is taken orally.

Tinilox-MPS Tablet contains two active ingredients:

• Diloxanide (250 mg): This is a luminal amoebicide which acts directly in your intestine. Although its exact mechanism isn't fully known, it's believed that diloxanide inhibits protein synthesis in parasites, leading to their death.

• Tinidazole (300 mg): This ingredient belongs to the class of nitroimidazole antibiotics. It works by disrupting the DNA of susceptible organisms like Entamoeba histolytica and anaerobic bacteria, causing them to die off.

By combining these two ingredients, Tinilox-MPS Tablet works effectively against various parasitic infections in your body.

• Store Tinilox-MPS Tablet at a cool room temperature, ideally below 30°C.

• Keep the medicine in a dry place, shielded from light and moisture.

• Always keep your medicine out of sight and reach of children.

• Ensure to use Tinilox-MPS Tablet before its expiry date.

• As dehydration often worsens intestinal infections, you must drink plenty of fluids daily. This helps replace any fluids lost due to diarrhoea associated with the infection.

• Consuming a balanced diet rich in fibre can help promote a healthy digestive system and reduce the risk of parasitic infections. Include foods such as whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and legumes in your meals.
