Teniva 10 Tablet is used for:

• Managing type 2 diabetes mellitus when diet and exercise alone are not enough.

• Combined with metformin, sulfonylurea, thiazolidinedione, or an alpha-glucosidase inhibitor to control blood sugar levels in type 2 diabetes.

• Improving blood sugar control as part of a triple therapy with metformin and sulfonylurea in adults with type 2 diabetes.

Here are some instructions on how to take Teniva 10 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Avoid crushing or chewing the tablet.

• You can take this medicine with or without food.

• Do not take more than the recommended dose unless your doctor advises you to do so.

• Remember, it's vital not to stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor first.

Teniva 10 Tablet contains the active ingredient teneligliptin (10 mg), which acts on your body in the following ways:

• DPP-4 Inhibition: Teneligliptin works by blocking a substance in your body called dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4). This substance normally breaks down certain hormones that help to control blood sugar levels.

• Insulin Secretion: By blocking DPP-4, teneligliptin allows these hormones to work for longer, which encourages your body to release more insulin. Insulin is a hormone that helps to lower blood sugar levels.

• Glucagon Suppression: Teneligliptin also helps to reduce the amount of glucagon, another hormone, that your body makes. Glucagon normally acts to increase blood sugar levels, so reducing it helps to keep your blood sugar levels lower.

• Keep Teniva 10 Tablet in a cool, dry place, ideally at room temperature.

• Protect it from light and moisture to maintain its efficacy.
