Solu-Medrol Injection is a corticosteroid used to treat severe allergic reactions, severe asthma, autoimmune disorders and serious inflammatory conditions affecting the joints, skin, eyes, lungs, gut and other organs.
It contains methylprednisolone. It works by reducing inflammation and calming an overactive immune response.
It is given into a vein, muscle or joint by a healthcare professional, usually as a short course. Do not stop a longer course suddenly, as the dose is reduced gradually.
Tell the medical team about any infection, diabetes or high blood pressure before it is given. Prolonged use or high doses can raise infection risk, blood pressure and blood sugar.
