Simtag E 10mg Tablet 10 is used for the following:

• Treating high cholesterol levels in the blood

• Managing primary hypercholesterolaemia

• Reducing mixed dyslipidaemia

• Treating homozygous familial hypercholesterolaemia

• Preventing cardiovascular disease in heart patients

• Lowering LDL cholesterol when diet alone isn't enough

• Decreasing triglyceride levels in the bloodstream

• Increasing HDL cholesterol (good cholesterol) levels

• Reducing apolipoprotein B levels in the blood

• Preventing atherosclerotic plaques in arteries

• Managing cholesterol in diabetic patients

Follow these instructions while taking Simtag E 10mg Tablet 10:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• You can take it with or without food, as prescribed by your doctor.

• Avoid crushing, chewing or splitting the tablet.

• Continue taking this medicine regularly for it to be effective.

• Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor.

Simtag E 10mg Tablet 10 is taken orally.

Simtag E 10mg Tablet 10 contains two active ingredients:

• Ezetimibe (10 mg): This component works by inhibiting cholesterol absorption in the small intestine. It blocks the uptake of both dietary and biliary (produced by your liver) cholesterol, reducing the amount of cholesterol delivered to your liver.

• Simvastatin (10 mg): As a statin medicine, simvastatin inhibits an enzyme called HMG-CoA reductase. This enzyme plays a key role in cholesterol production. By blocking this enzyme, simvastatin reduces cholesterol synthesis in the liver and increases the number of LDL receptors on liver cells, which helps remove more LDL cholesterol from your bloodstream.

• Store Simtag E 10mg Tablet 10 at room temperature.

• Protect the medicine from moisture and light exposure.

• Keep in a tightly closed container as originally packaged.

• Store all medicines out of reach of children.

• Do not use Simtag E 10mg Tablet 10 after the expiry date printed on the package.

• Follow a heart-healthy diet low in saturated fats and cholesterol. Include plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins to support your cholesterol management goals.

• Engage in regular moderate physical activity (at least 30 minutes most days) to help reduce LDL cholesterol (the "bad" cholesterol) and increase HDL cholesterol (the "good" cholesterol).
