Septran Tablet is used to treat bacterial infections affecting the lungs, throat, ears, urinary tract, digestive system, blood and other parts of the body. It helps clear infections caused by a wide range of bacteria.
It contains sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim, two antibacterial agents that work together to stop bacterial growth. Take this medicine exactly as prescribed and complete the full course, even if you start to feel better, to prevent the infection returning or the bacteria becoming resistant.
Drinking plenty of fluids while taking this medicine can help support kidney function and reduce the risk of crystals forming in the urine. Avoid prolonged sun exposure, as this medicine can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have any kidney or liver problems, blood disorders, or a known allergy to sulfa medicines. Contact your doctor promptly if you notice a skin rash, unusual bruising, or persistent stomach upset. It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
