Septran Tablet is used to treat bacterial infections affecting the lungs, throat, ears, urinary tract, digestive system, blood and other parts of the body. It helps clear a wide range of bacterial infections and relieve the associated symptoms.
It contains a combination of sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim, two antibacterial agents that work together to stop bacteria from multiplying. Take this medicine exactly as prescribed and complete the full course, even if you start to feel better, to prevent the infection returning or the bacteria becoming resistant.
Drinking plenty of fluids while taking this medicine supports kidney function and helps reduce the risk of crystals forming in the urine. Avoid prolonged sun exposure, as this medicine can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have any kidney or liver problems, blood disorders, or a known allergy to sulfa medicines. Contact your doctor promptly if you notice a skin rash, unusual bruising, or persistent stomach upset. It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
