It contains amlodipine and belongs to a group of medicines called calcium channel blockers. It works by relaxing and widening the blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily and the heart does not have to work as hard. It is usually taken at the same time each day. Continue taking it even if you feel well, and do not stop it without medical advice.

Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about any liver, kidney, or heart problems or other medicines you take, and whether you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Mild swelling of the ankles, flushing, or headache can occur, especially at first, and usually settles. Tell your doctor if ankle swelling becomes troublesome.
