Podcef 100 Suspension 30ml is used to treat bacterial infections in children affecting the ear, nose, throat, lower respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin, and soft tissue. It belongs to the cephalosporin class of antibiotics, which helps stop the growth of the bacteria causing the infection.
Give the suspension to your child as prescribed by the doctor, with or without food. Complete the full course, even if your child starts to feel better before finishing it, as stopping early can allow the infection to return. This medicine does not work against viral infections such as the flu or the common cold.
Encourage your child to drink plenty of fluids and get adequate rest to support recovery alongside this medicine. Shake the bottle well before each dose to ensure your child receives the correct amount of medicine, and store the reconstituted suspension as directed by your pharmacist.
Before giving this medicine, tell your doctor if your child has a history of colitis, liver problems, or kidney function impairment. Contact your doctor promptly if your child develops severe diarrhoea, a rash, or any unusual symptoms while taking this medicine.
